The Sint Nicolaashoeve is a stately farm built in 1858, with a rich history.

A hundred and forty years ago the owner of the farm bequested in his will that, after his death, the farm would be used as a home for old and disabled farm labourers.

Af the The Sint Nicolaashoeve the farm labourers could live out the rest of their lives and, if ill, be cared for. However they had to stick to the house rules. They had to obey "den vader" (father / farmer) and " den moeder" (mother / farmers' wife).

The farm maintained this use for 30 years.

If you would like to know how these vulnerable farm labourers use to live, and how people live on the farm nowadays, we offer you the historic tale in the recreation room and a tour on the farm. This excursion last approximately an hour and is suitable for groups of 12 or more.
