Tips for Trips
The Sint Nicolaas hoeve is an excellent starting point for a nice day out. In the area your have a range of opportunities such as:
Cycling

In the immediate vicinity there are a several designated cycle routes. One of them is the "7-hoven route" (7 farms route) of 32 km (20 miles). You can start and finish this scenic loop at our farm.
Cycle hire is available in the village of Nieuwveen, 200 mtr away from the farm (not on Sunday and Monday). We could book a bicycle for you.
Walking
The Schoter route is a walking route of 10 km (6.2 miles) and runs along our farm. Just follow the wooden Schoter route sign posts.
You could also stroll through the gardens of "Huize Ursula" in the heart of the village Nieuwveen. Alternatively you could walk the designated walking route The Ursula route of 5 km (3.1 miles).
Boating
There are many opportunities for water recreation in the area. Especially the beautiful "Nieuwkoopse plassen" are a unique nature reserve just 5 km (3 miles) from the farm. These waters offer something for anyone fond of nature and water. You can cano, row, sail or travel on a self-controlled quiet motor boat. It is also excellent for
bird watching.


Fishing
There are various fishing opportunities in the area. You can hire a boat a fish on the lakes Nieuwkoopse plassen, Langeraarse plassen and the Brassemermeer. However don't forget your fishing licence.
Swimming
The open air swimming pool "Aarweide" is 3 km (2 miles) from the farm, and the indoor swimming pool "De Wel" is 6 km away. You can also swim in the nearby lakes
